Who’s who on the Tasmania Tomorrow project
Steering Committee - responsible for policy and resourcing decisions for the delivery of project outputs and attainment of project outcomes. Membership includes:

Guaranteeing Futures Reference Group – consists of representatives from Guaranteeing Futures teams including pathway planning officers, youth learning officers and vocational education and learning development officers. The purpose of this group is to provide a consultative mechanism for input and feedback into transition and participation issues facing young people. The group also serves as a conduit for information to Year 9 and 10 students, disengaged students and parents.

Regional Communities Reference Group - This group will advise the project team on the processes for consulting with individual communities on their needs and preferences, as well as assisting to build a cohesive approach to the provision of education and training in regional areas. The group is jointly chaired by Paul Woodham, Acting Manager Personalised Learning - Learning Services South, Department of Education, and Jules Carroll, Tasmania Tomorrow Project Manager. Members were selected through an expression of interest process and include:

Working Groups – provide one of the key consultative mechanisms of the project and have been established with appropriate stakeholder membership to progress various aspects of development and implementation of the model. The working groups detailed below, will make recommendations to the steering committee, who in turn will advise the Minister. Progress of working groups are regularly published in Tasmania Tomorrow News.

Employee Relations (current) - This group is the main consultative mechanism on issues related to the working and employment conditions of teachers and support staff under the new model.

Funding (current) - This group is looking at funding model options for the new organisations and has prepared its recommendations for the steering committee which includes a funding model which is more focused on outputs than inputs.

Shared Services (current) - This working group has been established to make recommendations on the framework for the shared services unit. This unit will comprise a single organisation to co-ordinate services for both students and staff of the three organsiations created by Tasmania Tomorrow including enrolment and support services for students; and for staff, HR, finance, ICT, and facilities services.

Logistics Working Group (Sep - Dec 2007) - The purpose of this group was to analyse patterns of enrolment on a regional and community level and to carry out community consultations in order to make informed recommendations regarding sites for the academy, polytechnic and training enterprise. Local Advisory Panels [PDF 90KB] have been established to provide community input into the site selection process. Local Advisory Panels will reconvene in June 2008.
